Happy 4th of July Everyone !!
Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy and safe 4th. Hubby and I are going to go walking this morning at a wildlife preserve near our home. Then we are planning on a cookout with some family.
On another note I spoke with my daughter in law in England this morning. She will be flying to Atlanta on July 8th. Her and the grandkids will be staying with her father until she purchases a house. She is planning on living between the two of us. So we will all have an easy time seeing them. It will be so nice to spend more time with them. Bittersweet but nice. They have always been stationed in Eurpoe since Phillip was in the military. Who knows we may even get there for Christmas.
I really need to get busy and start quilting again. I have to get back in the mood. I'm working on it. :) I have a lot of "quilty stuff" in mind. Soon, I promise. I really don't know how you ladies do it that have full time jobs, families at home and produce so much. By the time I get home I am wore out. :) Maybe I need to take some vitamins. And keep your blogs current, I always seem to have time to read them.
HAPPY 4th!!!!!
In Rememberence of my Son.

A sincere Thank You
I would like to thank each and every person that has left condolences. It really means a lot to my family and myself. I have found that blogging friends are a very thoughtful and tight knit group. I was going to try and reply to each person but it is overwhelming. Also some did not leave email addresses. But again we appreciate your thoughts and prayers. I am hoping I can get back to quilting after Phillip's funeral service on the 27th of April. He will be buried in Arlington. Have a great day.

You Will Be Dearly Missed...My Son
.jpg)

On April 4, 2009 my oldest son Phillip was killed in Afghanistan. He was working with NATO forces at the time. We as a family decided to allow media coverage of Phillip's body arriving home to the United States. This was the first time in 18 years that the media was allowed to be present when a fallen Hero has returned home. I would like for everyone to know that we as a family were very happy with the way the transfer was handled. Phillip would want his country to know how returning fallen Heroes are treated with pride and dignity. Phillip loved his country and being a member of the Air Force EOD. He knew the risks and accepted them. Phillip leaves behind a devoted wife, Aimee, his daughter Dakotah age 5 1/2 and his son Kaiden, who will be 3 next month. His family was his world. His father, Eddie. His brother Sean. Myself and my husband Jeff. His grandparents and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews. Phillip will be greatly missed. We are all very proud of Phillip and each and every soldier whether living or deceased. It is the ultimate sacrifice. He requested to be buried in Arlington. So we are trying to get everything arranged. I did get to talk to him on Wed. April 1. I am so thankful for that.

Yo Yo's are not my thing
I joined the One Project A Month challenge on Kris's blog and May Britt's blog last month. Well I did not do any thing for the month of January. I was in a funk. This month I did get a table topper completed. I wanted to make a Yo Yo quilt. It is not going to happen. :) Yo's yo's are not my thing. This topper is 10 rows by 20 rows. I forgot to measure it before I decided to blog about it today. I liked the way it turned out and I put a backing on mine. Not sure if this is correct. But I wanted something that would hold it all together when I move the topper for dinner. The pitcher is one my husband had before we were married. He use to go to estate sales and auctions before we were married. I believe he picked it up at one of those. I thought it set the topper off quite nicely. So I have my February project complete. Now it is time to find something for March. I can't believe it is March already.

Bloggers not playing nice
First off Happy New Year! a day late. I hope everyone has a great year in 2009. I am looking forward to getting a lot of projects completed. First off is changing my blog background. Every time I have tried to change it I get the message "widgets are being deleted". I have no idea how to fix this so I just cancel the page change. I guess I am going to have to get my husband to fix it for me. I also wanted to add some pictures of fabric that I got for Christmas. Well blogger will not let me add pictures today. So I will try and do that tomorrow or next week. I have a busy weekend planned. Unfortunately it is working not playing.
